Hely gets permanent Sochaux job

Sochaux manager Eric Hely has extended his contract by two years, the club said after confirming their Ligue 1 status.

Hely, 47, was appointed interim manager on March 6 after Mehmed Bazdarevic left the club, and has signed a deal until June 2014.

Sochaux finished the season in 14th place after a final-day win over Marseille.

They preserved their top-flight status thanks to a run of seven wins in 12 matches following Hely’s arrival: they had gone on a run of 13 games without victory beforehand.

Assistant manager Bernard Genghini, goalkeeping coach Jean-Claude Hagenbach and fitness coach Jean-Philippe Blanc were also given permanent contracts by the club.
