Go ahead, get the fries.
Last month, Taco Bell brought back its Taco Lover’s Pass, a month-long subscription that allowed taco cravers to get one taco every day for 30 straight days. The $10 pass was (unsurprisingly) a success, so the California-based chain is launching a brand new pass for fans of a different menu item.
From today through Monday, December 4, Taco Bell Rewards Members can buy a $10 Nacho Fries Lover’s Pass, which means you’ll score one order of regular Nacho Fries every day for 30 consecutive days. To buy the pass, you’ll need to become a Taco Bell Rewards Member by creating an account on the Taco Bell app.
The Nacho Fries Lover’s Pass is activated on the day you buy it, and it expires in 30 days, regardless of how many orders of Nacho Fries you scarfed. And apologies if you wanted Nacho Fries to go with your turkey and stuffing: the pass cannot be redeemed on Thanksgiving or Christmas.
“We're committed to pushing the boundaries of convenience and innovation for our biggest fans, our loyalty members,” Dane Mathews, the chief digital officer at Taco Bell, said in a statement. “The Nacho Fries Lover’s Pass is just one example of how we’re leveraging digital technology to enhance their experience.”
It may not involve “leveraging” or “digital technology,” but Taco Bell is also adding a new style of Nacho Fries to its menu this week. Grilled Cheese Nacho fries, a rich combo of crispy potatoes, grilled steak, and a three-cheese blend, will be available for a limited time starting Thursday, November 16. The new Nacho Fries have a suggested retail price of $4.99, and the fries can also be spiced up with jalapeños. Both the spicy and less-spicy versions are served with Taco Bell’s Nacho Cheese and Chipotle sauces. (Before you ask, no, you cannot use the Nacho Fries Lover’s Pass to buy the Grilled Cheese Nacho Fries. You’ll have to use regular money for that.)
Taco Bell execs have credited the Taco Lover’s Pass with helping the company attract and retain its Rewards Club members. According to Nation’s Restaurant News, after testing the pass in Tucson, Arizona, in 2021, the company learned that 20% of pass-purchasers were new to Taco Bell Rewards, and another 20% renewed a second time. (From that test, Taco Bell also learned that the most-ordered taco was Doritos Locos Tacos Supreme.)
If you want to get in on the new Nacho Fries Lover’s Pass, you’ll want to act fast. And here’s hoping that the Baja Blast Lover’s Pass will happen in 2024.
