Hibs expect to be handed a full away allocation against Rangers after an intervention from the SPFL, according to a report.

With just four days to go until the Premiership clash at Ibrox, there remained doubt whether the Hibees would get ANY tickets for the away end. It stems from the delays to work done on the Copland Road stand which displaced Gers to Hampden temporarily. The work has been completed and the Light Blues returned to their home for the cup game against Dundee last weekend.

However, only the front section of the Copland end was opened up amid a wait for the relevant safety certificates to be granted. Rangers this week guaranteed supporters with season tickets in that area they would find them a seat elsewhere for the visit of David Gray's men.

That could have meant the away allocation scrapped to accommodate them and Hibs were left in the dark over whether they would get any briefs for travelling fans. But SPFL rule I27 stipulates that home clubs ‘must make provision for the admission of such reasonable number of visiting supporters at every home league match’ and must do so ‘no later than 14 days prior to the date of the match in question’.

And the Hibs Observer reports the club contacted league chiefs to ask them to step in, adding they were informed on Monday their appeal was successful and they will be handed 932 tickets.

Hibs want to put the tickets on sale as soon as possible but as of this evening have not received them from Rangers. The Ibrox side could could face repercussions from the SPFL if the full allocation isn't received on time.
