Will Hibs or Hearts be relegated? Kris Boyd and Craig Levein answer burning question
Kris Boyd reckons Hibernian are in a fight to stay in the Scottish Premiership this season.
The Easter Road side are currently rooted to the bottom of the table, one point adrift of city rivals Hearts, and are currently having a torrid time with only one win in 14 across all competitions. Boyd, however, doesn’t think head coach David Gray is necessarily to blame and instead believes the structure of the club isn’t an effective one.
In a recent statement, the club's hierarchy backed Gray to turn it around though, saying: "Through this challenging time, we support our head coach David Gray and his management team. All departments are under pressure to deliver." Bournemouth owner Bill Foley, though his Black Knights group, has a 25% stake in the club and has indicated they did not agree with the initial appointment of the club legend to the head coach position.

Similarly, the Jambos are toiling in second bottom but the former Kilmarnock and Rangers forward has tipped them to finish in the top half of the table this season. Since Neil Critchley’s arrival in Gorgie, their form has started to improve as they look to pull away from the wrong end of the division.
“Hearts will finish the top six this season,” Boyd said on The Warm-Up Unfiltered.
On Hibs’ relegation prospects, he added: "I don't think they'll go down, but they're more a fight. They're in more trouble than what Hearts are.”
“I think it's way early. I mean, the league is very, very tight,” he answers when quizzed on if the Hibees are in serious trouble. “It can’t always be the manager's fault, Hibs have been through five or six managers now inside the last three or four years, there’s got to be something wrong with the structure. People keep saying we’ve got a recruitment team in place, you cannot keep getting the players wrong."
Craig Levein was posed the question too, of whether either capital city club would go down, but didn't see it happening. "No. I don't think so. No. I think they can fix it in January, whatever they do," he answered.
