High school teacher reveals the ‘ridiculous’ emails he receives from students: ‘Why did you give homework today?’

A high school teacher is sharing the hilariously “ridiculous” emails his students send him — and the viral footage is proving just how much times have changed at school, and how funny kids can be.

Jordan Baechler — known to his students as “Mr. B” and to TikTok as @mrbaechler — gained nearly 18 million collective views when he uploaded the two-part gallery to his account.

While we’ve seen creative students go viral in the past — like the teens whose school haka gave millions of TikTokers goose bumps — these high schoolers’ emails are cracking people up across social media.

In his first gallery posted to TikTok — captioned “It just gets crazier and crazier” — Baechler gained 3.9 million views, 477,000 likes, 25,000 saves and 3,600 comments.

While some students’ emails expressed concerns for their grades — “a 79????????? Do you hate me????????” one teen wrote — others delved into the teacher’s personal feelings, asking, “Do you have any preference between period 3 or 4?”

For many TikTokers, the act of emailing a teacher was a whole new concept.

“As a millennial it’s so funny to me that kids can just email their teachers any time now. We had to wait and talk to them after class in my day lol,” commented @lysssssssssss_.

For others, it was the informal tone of the students’ emails that shocked them.

“You MUST be chill because I wouldn’t even DREAM of sending emails like these to my teachers back in the day 😭” wrote @blckmrktbaklava.

“Are you telling me I’m being embarrassingly formal with my emails,” asked @peregrineupthere.

With Baechler’s second gallery, the teacher gained 14.6 million views, 2 million likes, 107,000 saves and 16,000 comments.

“What can you even respond to half of these? 🤦🏻‍♂️” the video’s caption reads.

People were taken aback by the kids’ wit and sense of humor.

“These kids are genuinely so funny,” commented @taylor_borja.

To this, Baechler responded, “Even funnier in class 😂”

Judging by the tone of the emails, it’s clear “Mr. B” is a trusted and much-beloved teacher at his school.

One student’s email wasn’t so much funny but rather emotionally honest.

“About today — sorry, I was in a bad mood,” they wrote.

“they ain’t your students anymore, they your friends 😂😂” wrote @treeezyyy.

“you can tell you’re their fav teacher,” commented @mishisyarizonas.

Considering just how stressful teaching can be, it's good to know that educators like Mr. B can find humor in his career, while connecting with his students in a meaningful way.
