Police chase after Mercedes spotted driving erratically on motorway
A MAN has been arrested after leading police on a chase into the New Forest.
A Mercedes-Benz was flagged to police for driving erratically along the westbound carriageway of the M27.
Officers located the car at junction 3, north of Southampton, however, it failed to stop and lead them onto the A31.
The car then headed eastbound, according to the Hampshire Roads Policing Unit.

Police were able to stop the Mercedes near Bratley Arch where the driver was arrested.
Police say the driver gave a roadside sample of 135mg of alcohol - the legal limit is just 35mg.
A spokesperson for Hampshire police said: “We were called at 5.33pm on Tuesday to reports of a black Mercedes-Benz CLK280 being driven dangerously on the M27 westbound.
“Officers located the vehicle and the driver failed to stop so was pursued onto the A31 until officers managed to stop the vehicle near Brackley Arch.
“A 35-year-old man from Bognor Regis was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and failing to stop. He remains in custody.”
