Hollyoaks airs Imran Maalik exit scenes

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks has aired an emotional exit for Imran Maalik.

As previewed earlier this week, Imran had considered putting plans to move to London on hold after learning that best mate Juliet has been diagnosed with terminal cancer.

His sister Yazz has her own reservations about Imran leaving the village, as his decision to make a new life has left her wanting more, even as she discovers some life-changing news of her own.

As the family readied for Imran's departure, he promised Juliet that he would drop his London plans in a heartbeat if she needed him around.

Juliet urged Imran not to cry, telling him: "This is a happy day. You're chasing your dreams because you finally listened to me, for once!"

Imran once again asked if she wanted him to stay, insisting he'd do anything she wanted. Juliet choked up as she encouraged her best mate to "fly for me" as she broke down in tears.

He also shared a tender moment with Brooke, telling them that he's "so happy he can call [them] a friend" after all they went through in their romantic life.

When it came time to say goodbye to Yazz, she admitted to her brother that she is "insanely jealous" that he's off to start a new life.

"That's funny, I spent most of my life being insanely jealous of you," Imran confessed.

Yazz promised: "No matter where we are in the world, you will always be my brother!"

Imran called back to his troubled adolescence as he thanked Yazz and Misbah for standing by his side no matter what he'd put them through.

"Your father would be so proud of the man you've become," Misbah assured him.

After one last hug for the family, Imran was off to start his new life in London…
