Hollyoaks star Haiesha Mistry pays tribute to Ijaz Rana after exit

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks actress Haiesha Mistry has bid a fond farewell to her co-star Ijaz Rana, who left the soap as Imran Maalik this week.

In his exit episode, Imran promised terminally-ill friend Juliet Nightingale that he'd change his London plans if she needed him – she told him to "fly for me" through tears – while his sister Yazz (played by Mistry) admitted that she was "insanely jealous" of him starting a new chapter elsewhere.

"No matter where we are in the world, you will always be my brother!" she said, before Imran thanked both Yazz and mum Misbah for supporting him through thick and thin.

Posting a selection of behind-the-scenes throwbacks to Instagram yesterday (June 1), Mistry celebrated gaining a "brother for life".

"To my brother @ijazrana_, as Yazz said: 'No matter where we are you'll always be my brother'," began her caption.

"Watching your come up on the show both professionally and personally has been nothing short of inspiring. I'm so blessed I gained a brother for life. I always wanted one I could take the p**s out of!

"I'll keep it short 'cos I know you hate me hyping you up but you're my favourite person to hype! I'm so proud of you and I cannot wait to see where your journey takes you next!"

Rana himself responded: "Not the superman pic! I guess you're alright!! Love you", before plenty of Hollyoaks fans weighed in with their own comments.

"A great on screen family and no doubt just as close off it", "Fave Hollyoaks fam" and "Good luck in [your] next step in life," some of those viewers added.
