The 9-2 shot produced a thrust past Venus De Milo and Just Pretending to shed her maiden tag but a drift to the left in the closing stages prompted a stewards' inquiry.

The inquiry left the placings unchanged though and trainer Alain de Royer-Dupr was delighted with the win.

He said: “She is a great filly and I wanted to try another Group One rather than to go into an easier race.”

It had looked like Just Pretending and Riposte were battling it out for the win but the late surge from the filly ensured the win and Royer-Dupr was keen to praise jockey Johnny Murtagh.

He added: “Johnny Murtagh did well as she is not easy to ride. He got her relaxed and I told him when he asked her, to do it gently and not to surprise her. The Curragh is a marvellous track, one of the best in Europe and if you have a good horses to come here, you are sure to show something.”
