The exodus of top French jockeys continues. To the disappointment of the organisers of the winter meetings at Cagnes sur Mer, on France’s Mediterranean coast, the country’s top riders have been heading off to even sunnier climes.
The latest to do so is 2012 Prix du Jockey Club winner Hamelin, who has been invited to the USA for a month’s training by Graham Motion, a move in which Alain de Royer Dupré and Hamelin’s affable agent Jules Susini have no doubt been involved.
Saonois’ partner will ride at Gulfstream Park and train with champion horse Animal Kingdom, who has been entered for the Dubai World Cup.
