Magician dominated the Irish 2,000 Guineas at the Curragh to give Aiden O’Brien his ninth win of the event and his 29th in an Irish classic.

The pairing of O’Brien and his son Joseph were again ruthless in what was a classic at the legendary Irish venue.

In Coolmore colours, Magician easily won to further boost his prospects at the Epsom Derby and even Ascot, having had a promising win in Chester in a well-run Group 3.

Magician, the favourite, came in three-and-a-half lengths ahead of Gale For Ten, another O’Brien-trained horse.
