Horse Racing: Monday's Market Movers

The first of today’s movers comes from Windsor in their 17:00 1m handicap where COMMODITY has been well supported for Sir Michael Stoute and Ryan Moore. The 4yo flopped when failing to land the odds in a Kempton maiden last autumn, but this does not look the strongest of contests and a mark of 75 gives him every chance of scoring at the first time of asking in the handicap ranks. A 190,000gns purchase in 2014 he opened at 9/4 last night with some bookmakers but is now as short as 11/8 in places (best price 7/4).

Up at Redcar, the un-raced SKETCH BOOK VENUE has been well-backed by punters in the 15:50. As big as 6/1 on first showing yesterday evening, the Alan Swinbank-trained 3yo is now 3/1 in places (best price 7/2).

Also at Windsor this afternoon there has been money for DADDIE’S GIRL in the opener at 14:00. The un-raced 2yo is trained by Rod Millman and has been backed at big prices. Having been 25/1 last night, the filly is now just 17/2 in places (best price 10/1).

Back at Redcar, Kevin Ryan’s HEIR OF EXCITEMENT has attracted plenty of support in the 16:55. The top-weight was not disgraced in midfield on the all-weather last month having been hampered and that recent outing may just give him a fitness edge over his rivals. 20/1 with some firms last night, he’s now just 5/1 with one bookie (best price 8/1)
