Horse Racing Tips: Fun in the sun at Doncaster

Sandown 14:20 – Rebel Assault 13/2 – 1pt
The Mark Johnston-trained 2yo first caught the eye at Catterick, scampering clear for an impressive victory win on debut. Since then she’s gone off at odds-on three times but won just once. Today’s track conditions should play to her strengths however and if she can break well and get to the front early, she could prove tough to pass.

Doncaster 15:35 – Sun Lover – 11/8 – 2pts
Roger Varian’s 4yo remains relatively unexposed after just five career starts and should be at home under today’s underfoot conditions. The one in the race who should still have further improvement to come, he could prove to be a class above this field.

Newton Abbott 15:15 – Katy P – 9/2 – 1pt
Plenty come into this race on the back of recent wins with the selection looking for a third win in her last four starts. She’s back up in trip which does raise a slight concern but she’s proven at today’s venue and at the prices looks worth a play.

Sandown 16:00 – Euginio – 11/4 – 2pts
Put in a much-improved performance when finishing second last time out to a classy Gosden horse, Richard Hannon’s 3yo has not been seen since. That 79 day break shouldn’t prove a concern though as he’s show good form when fresh and he sets a clear standard on the ratings.

Doncaster 16.10 – Harebell – 7/2 1pt

Too keen for her own good when third at Salisbury last time out, if Ralph Beckett’s filly can settle better there should be more improvement to come over this longer trip.
