HOT FOOTBALL TRANSFER GOSSIP: Chelsea and Real Madrid in £100m Bale/Hazard swap, Messi to join Pep at City

Stanley Accrington's look through the tabloid rumour mill leaves him open-mouthed as new Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane apparently has £100m at his disposal - while what Manchester City are ready to spend is almost beyond belief

HOT FOOTBALL TRANSFER GOSSIP: Chelsea and Real Madrid in £100m Bale/Hazard swap, Messi to join Pep at City

Real Madrid know a good player when they see one but they are still apparently ready to part with £100m to snap up fading superstar Eden Hazard from Chelsea, according to the Daily Star.

Last season’s world beater currently looks like he couldn’t beat an egg but with Zinedine Zidane looking to build a new team of superstars to obliterate the memory of the Benitez months, Hazard is top of the Bernabeu wish list.

This huge cash injection at Stamford Bridge would not only help pay off Jose Mourinho’s severance pay but would also free up funds for a swoop for the world’s most expensive player – Gareth Bale – currently incumbent at Real Madrid and whose place looks most at threat from Belgium attacker Hazard. That’s what the Mirror says, anyway…

But wait… Bale’s ‘boyhood idol’ Ryan Giggs could yet throw a spanner in the Chelsea works. Bale would relish working with Giggs at Old Trafford and they have £75m to spend – insists the Daily Mail.

Bale himself might yet stay put if ZZ opts to use him a central role (The Guardian) which could leave everyone where they are at the moment.

Pep Guardiola, meanwhile, is ready to throw a Spaniard in the works of Manchester City. The Bayern Munich boss will become City boss in the summer according to Sky Sports and this, according to the Daily Express, will open the door for a reunion with Barcelona megastar Lionel Messi.

But the Sun says that United have their eyes on Pep and if they ‘act quickly’ they will land him, as he has already apparently turned down Chelsea and Arsenal.

Back at the Bridge, Loic Remy, the man who scored the final goal of the second Mourinho era, is still a peripheral figure but the Blues are reluctant to let the 29-year-old go unless they find a replacement, says the Mail.

Remy is wanted by Newcastle, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace. Hmmm. That’s a difficult choice to make.

Watford could be planning for life post Troy Deeney if Arsenal get their man for £20m. The Guardian reports they and Palace are in the hunt for ex-Spurs, Arsenal and Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor, while the Star claims the Hornets are closing in on Fiorentina's Spain midfielder Mario Suarez, 28.
