Hot Football Transfer Gossip: PSG ‘want £50m Alli’, Everton ‘target Man United's Depay’

The Boss of Goss Kevin Darling brings us news that will have concern Spurs fans and the latest of Memphis Depay's future at Old Trafford.

Dele Alli is being tracked by PSG

Being a Paris Saint-Germain fan must be a fairly ridiculous experience. If there’s a good player somewhere in the world, you know that one day you’re going to be linked with signing them. Even though you know deep down - and so do they - that they would get completely bored beating Caen 6-0 every week, and would actually have a more interesting time if they moved to Stoke City instead.

But Stoke don’t pay wages likes PSG, and the Potteries don’t have the same allure as Paris. That’s why Dele Alli is being linked with the French champions and not the Potters.

According to the Mirror, Unai Emery’s side are targeting the Tottenham midfielder in a £50m summer swoop and they “really fancy him”.

Whether Alli (or Dele, as he has told everyone to call him but has so far been completely ignored) fancies regular 6-0 wins against Caen rather than closely fought north London derbies is another matter, although it has been a strange season for him so far - what with the name-changing, diving and generally not being as good as he was last year.

Like PSG, Everton are another side with lots of cash to splash but not enough players who want to join them. And the one man they did manage to splash lots of cash on, Yannick Bolasie, has just been ruled out for a year with injury.

The Toffees will seek to sign Manchester United’s Memphis Depay to replace the winger in January and have also made a £12m offer for Napoli striker Manolo Gabbiadini, says the Sun.

Another option for Ronald Koeman is Leicester winger Demarai Gray, who the Mirror says could move to Goodison Park after being used sparingly at the King Power Stadium.

Manchester City have received the upsetting news that Valencia have realised Eliaquim Mangala is not very good and have already opted against making his loan move to the Mestalla permanent for £15m next summer, says the Sun. That was always the risk.

The Spanish side clearly don’t learn their lesson though, because they reportedly want to sign West Ham flop Simone Zaza on loan from Juventus in January (ESPN). The only potential stumbling block to the move, according to Valencia sporting director Jesus Garcia Pitarch, is that Zaza’s wages at the London Stadium are “absolutely exorbitant”. Nice work, Karren Brady.

West Ham have ambitious plans to replace Zaza with a sexy youngster, but Hot Football Transfer Gossip doesn’t fancy their chances. The Hammers are competing with Real Madrid and Bayern Munich to sign 17-year-old Swedish striker Alexander Isak (Marca) and battling Man Utd, Man City and Arsenal for 17-year-old Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe (Mirror). Good luck, Karren Brady.

Elsewhere, Leicester striker Leonardo Ulloa is wanted in China and Sunderland - but would get more money in China (Sunderland Echo), Branislav Ivanovic will not leave Chelsea in January despite interest from Juventus (Bleacher Report) and Boca Juniors forward Carlos Tevez is considering a £33m-a-year offer to play for Shanghai Shenhua, or he might just opt to retire instead (Goal). That, friends, is how little footballers have to worry about money.
