There is a litany of terrible news for lovers of the hottest Hot Football Transfer Gossip today, because various hot footballers are reportedly going to sign new contracts with their existing clubs.

Sergio Aguero, for instance, is going to have his deal extended by Manchester City before Pep Guardiola takes charge at the Etihad, reports the Sun, thereby decreasing the chances of him being sold to Real Madrid in a multi-million swap deal involving Gareth Bale and Fabian Delph, for example.

Alexis Sanchez also looks set to take the boring option and remain with Arsenal, who are set to offer the Chilean forward a new five-and-a-half deal, according to the Football Insider. It’s not that boring for Sanchez, though, because the Football Insider says the contract will earn him £51.5m, which apparently equates to £180,000 a week. Having said that, we’re not entirely convinced by the Football Insider’s credentials because it makes unnecessary statements like “Sanchez has been a huge success at the Emirates since his move from Barcelona in 2014”. Great “insider” knowledge there.

In less heartwarming news for Gunners fans, another man who looks set to stay put in north London is Wojciech Szczesny, whose loan move to Roma looks unlikely to be renewed. The Italians are instead set to sign Brazilian keeper Alisson, says the Sun. Petr Cech probably won’t be losing any sleep over it though.

Another player turning his back on Hot Football Transfer Gossip is Robert Lewandowski, who Polish media report is poised to sign a new deal at Bayern Munich.

Hell, even Cheik Tiote looks like he is not going to be transferred anywhere, with Newcastle manager Steve McClaren saying in the Guardian that he now wants to keep the previously out-of-sorts Ivorian on the basis of one “spirited” display against an average West Brom side.

In more non-transfer news in the Sun, Barcelona have said that Manchester City target Neymar is happy at the club. But if you dig a little deeper into this story, it seems that the Brazilian forward is not as happy in Catalonia as they say. According to the Sun, Neymar and his dad, Neymar Sr, had a row with some journalists who were waiting for them outside a restaurant in the city. The ambush prompted Neymar Sr to angrily shout: “Isn’t Neymar allowed to enjoy himself now and again?” We’re not sure which Neymar he was referring to though. And the best thing about this story is that it’s written by Sun reporter Wally Downes Jr. We kid you not.

Finally, some proper transfer gossip, courtesy of England’s heroes Leicester. The Mirror reports that the Premier League table toppers are preparing a “massive” £24m bid for CSKA Moscow striker Ahmed Musa in the summer. Meanwhile, the Daily Mail says the Foxes are keeping tabs on Rennes’ 18-year-old winger Ousmane Dembele, who is apparently “the next top talent to emerge from France”.
