Hot Football Transfer Gossip: Hart ‘wants Liverpool move’, Spurs ‘target Mangala’, West Ham ‘agree Zaza fee’

Joe Hart has a problem. Actually he has two problems. The first is that Manchester City don’t want him anymore. The second is that nobody else seems to want him either. And most infuriatingly of all, the goalkeeper has come up with the perfect solution. An idea so brilliantly simple we can’t believe we didn’t think of it ourselves, like Gogglebox or Grindr.

Liverpool.

Even at his lowest ebb of self-confidence, Hart has been able to comfort himself with the fact he is better than Simon Mignolet. But, apparently, he might not be.

The Sun reports that Hart is so keen on a move to Anfield that he has made it clear he will take a “huge” pay cut in a bid to “tempt Jurgen Klopp” into buying him. But the German coach is unmoved and so far shown zero interest in the idea of replacing his number one. At this point, Alex Manninger has a better chance.

It can’t be long before Hart starts emailing Klopp YouTube links to his best saves, or setting up nets in the manager’s front garden and getting strangers to take shots at him.

Hart’s other potential escape route, Everton, also seems closed after Toffees boss Ronald Koeman insisted he had “no interest” in signing the 29-year-old.

So where else? It probably depends on how low Hart is willing to go on that pay cut.

Just to rub it in even more, even Hart’s similarly unwanted team-mate Eliaquim Mangala might get himself a move - to Tottenham, of all places.

An ESPN “source” claims Spurs are considering a move for the much-maligned defender and could simultaneously “listen to offers” for Kevin Wimmer. Sounds like ESPN’s source might have been on the sauce.

Spurs are also trying to buy Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha, who the Mail says has told the Eagles he wants to leave Selhurst Park while Daniel Levy mulls over an improved bid of £15m.

If that move materialises, the Times says Alan Pardew will replace the winger with Newcastle’s Moussa Sissoko, but presumably not at the Magpies’ £30m asking price. Even if he did have a good game in the Euro 2016 final.

Another player who also had a memorable Euros, albeit by taking the worst penalty anyone has ever taken, Simone Zaza, could be on his way to West Ham, says the Guardian.

The Italian striker is reportedly set for a medical in east London after the Hammers’ £24m bid was accepted by Juventus. Does Slaven Bilic still need all these players without any European games to play them in?

Manchester United have been told that Monaco right-back Fabinho will cost them £25m (Talksport), while United target Jose Fonte is set to stay at Southampton after holding “one-to-one talks” with Saints chairman Ralph Krueger (Metro). They must have been scary.

Elsewhere, in multi-lingual Hot Football Transfer Gossip, Red Devils defender Marcos Rojo is a target for Valencia (Deporte Valenciano), Watford have agreed an £8.5m deal to sign Gent midfideler Sven Kums (Het Laatste Nieuws) and Aston Villa’s Joleon Lescott is a target for Greek clubs Olympiakos and AEK Athens (Sport24). They haven’t got any of the 2015/16 season DVDs over there yet.
