How to get glowing skin really quick

Follow these tips for gorgeous, dewy skin.

Reach for a mask
A quick way to deal with dull, dry skin, is to pamper it with a glow-getting mask. Apply a hydrating, radiance-boosting mask to your skin before your start applying your makeup. There are a host of masks out there that firm up the skin, sooth, infuse hydration, and plump up the skin so that it looks like it’s fresh from a facial. Do this first thing in the morning, so that your skin has enough time to absorb all the hydrating and nourishing ingredients in the mask.

Massage on your skincare
Use your fingertips to massage in your skincare products—we’re talking everything from face creams to serums and oils. A facial massage stimulates your skin, boosts circulating, getting the blood flowing towards the surface and ‘wakes up’ your complexion. It also ensures that the product gets absorbed into your skin. Move your fingertips in circular motions around your cheekbones, on your forehead, and outward and down towards your chin. Use upward strokes starting from the base of your neck and going up towards your chin.

Eye masks to the rescue

Is lack of sleep, a hangover, or exhaustion leaving you with puffy, red peepers? Tired will definitely ruin the ‘refreshed’ look you’re going for. Fake a good night’s sleep with the help of under eye patches and masks. Eye masks help tackle dehydration, puffiness, dark circles and fine lines. Your dark circles won’t vanish with just one use, but you’ll definitely look awake and refreshed, leaving you with brighter, younger-looking eyes.

Moisturise with powerful ingredients
Loss of hydration can make skin dry, dull-looking, and even itchy. To stop yourself from heading in that direction, slather on a serum or moisturiser that’s rich in hyaluronic acid. This hydrator can hold 100 times its weight in water; so it helps your skin retain moisture, giving it a plump, dewy appearance. All this makes a hyaluronic acid a must-include ingredient in your skincare regimen.

Power up your foundation
Mix in a few drops of a luminizer in to your foundation and apply the mixture all over your face with a damp makeup sponge. Bounce the sponge on your skin to lightly tap and blend the product on your face; don’t drag the sponge over your skin for a streak-free finish. The luminizer will create an even, soft glow to your skin, making your skin look younger and softer. This technique will give your face a natural-looking sheen.

Sweep on some highlighter
Powder or liquid highlighters are a great way to add an extra bit of glow in strategic areas so as to give your skin a dewy look. Target the high points of your face. These are the areas where light reflects naturally. Opt for a highlighter that isn’t glittery or chunky, but offers a soft glimmer. Those with golden complexions should opt for peach-toned highlighters, while bronzy tints look best on those with deeper complexions. Apply the highlighter under your brow bone, on top of your cheekbones, the bridge of your nose, and on your Cupid’s bow.
