Striker Bojan Radulović admits it has been a frustrating period out injured but he is glad to be back and has his sights set on a first goal of the season, starting with Bristol Rovers this weekend.

Radulović has been out with a groin injury and had to watch from the sidelines but he is back now and happy to help the team.

"It’s not been easy. It’s been a bit tough," he admitted. "Now I am feeling good, feeling happy, feeling fit and feeling ready for everything and the upcoming games.

"I would say it hasn’t been many injuries. The only one I would consider a big, big injury has been the last one I had that’s kept me out for six weeks when I pulled my groin.

"I got small stuff but it’s been for a week maybe. The only big injury I had has been now. It’s not been an easy time but now that’s in the past and it's a refresh for everyone so I think now we have to be focussed on the future."

There is lots of competition in Radulović's position and he has therefore found himself in and out of the team but he says he only wants what is best for the team.

He continued: "Sometimes it is not easy to handle it because, as you know, every footballer wants to play, every player wants to be fit and involved in the team. Maybe people can think these guys for them it’s easy but no it’s not because we are also human beings. We want to be fit and ready every time so for us it’s not easy sometimes.

"Of course it’s good when you have a lot of strikers fit and available. It makes you better and it’s good when you have a bit of competitiveness. Sometimes when you are changing the team a lot or when you don’t know who is going to play it gets you thinking maybe I am not going to play or maybe I am but it’s part of our job, it’s part of football so everyone needs to be ready and everyone will have his own opportunity and we have to be ready.

"As a striker it’s a bit frustrating when you are actually playing well and not getting off the mark because you are the main guy who needs to score. As I always say, firstly I need to do my job on the pitch playing well doing my best and then I think the goals will come and when the first one comes that will be different.

"I like to play for the team as well and if I don’t have a clear chance to shoot or score I prefer just to pass it and if another team mate can score that’s of course better for the team. The goals with that hard work will come. Hopefully this weekend!"

On Radulovic, head coach Michael Duff said: "Bojan clearly had a difficult year last year from coming in, him and the football club. And then in the summer I don't know whether there was a bit of noise whether he thought he was leaving, or he didn't think he was leaving or whatever but then he got injured, missed a massive chunk of pre season and we start to get him fit and he gets injured again after scoring a hat trick for the B team and then the window closes but the beauty of the window closing is right we need to work together.

"He has accepted loads of new information, he is learning about the league. He is in a different country, he hasn't got an army of mates, he is living away from his family. Now he's fit and everyday he is starting to look sharper and hopefully the player the football club signed."
