Hudson outlasts Jacksonville, 54-46

Feb. 10—Jacksonville came close to upsetting league-leading Hudson Friday night at John Alexander Gymnasium, but when the final buzzer sounded it was the Hornets that walked away with a 54-46 victory over the Indians.

Jacksonville remains in third place in the District 18-4A standings, heading in to the last regular season game, which will take place at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday at Rusk.

The Indians (12-16, 5-4) needed to defeat Hudson (28-4, 9-0) and Rusk and have Palestine lose its final-two outings in order to move into second place in the league pecking order.

Palestine beat Bullard, 61-52, Friday to snuff out the Indians' chances of improving its position in the standings.
