Hull City confirm next steps after Tim Walter sacking as coaching set-up changes
Hull City have confirmed the departure of Tim Walter after just 149 days in charge of the Championship club following Tuesday night's 2-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.
Walter has paid the price for an awful start to the Championship season which has seen City win just three times in the opening 17 games, and their second MKM Stadium defeat to the Owls already was their fourth on the spin, a result which leaves them mired inside the bottom three.
Owner Acun Ilicali had previously given his backing to the German head coach, but the manner of the performance against Wednesday and the subsequent reaction of the home supporters made the change inevitable.

City's squad will now prepare for Saturday's 12:30pm kick-off against in-form Middlesbrough, with assistant boss Andy Dawson taking over, just as he did two years ago when Shota Arveladze was dismissed. Both of Walter's coaches, Filip Tapalovic and Julian Huebner have also moved on.
"Hull City can confirm we have parted company with head coach Tim Walter with immediate effect," the Tigers said in a short statement on Wednesday afternoon.
"Assistant head coaches Julian Hübner and Filip Tapalović have also left the club. First-team coach Andy Dawson will take interim charge while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a permanent successor.
"We would like to thank Tim, Julian and Filip for their efforts during their time at the MKM Stadium and wish them well for the future."
