Hull City midfielder makes perfect response after Tim Walter decision
Hull City youngster Harry Vaughan has been catching the eye playing for the Under-21s after recovering from the setback of not being involved in Tim Walter's first team squad this season, according to boss Conor Sellars.
Vaughan was a regular throughout pre-season under Walter's watchful eye, but after an aggressive recruitment surge in August, the 20-year-old returned to the Under-21s, where he's been impressing since, similar to teammate Tyrell Sellars-Fleming.
His form for City's youngsters saw him called up to the Republic of Ireland Under-21s squad for their double-header with Sweden in recent days, and Sellars says he's been impressed with the attacking midfielder, who burst onto the scene two seasons ago under Liam Rosenior's tutelage.

"I think Harry's playing really well at the minute," Sellars told Hull Live. "I feel like when he came back down (into the Under-21s from the first team), he rightfully so might feel a little bit disappointed, but maybe after the first three games, he's really kicked on.
"It's a little bit like Tyrell (Sellars-Fleming), where you're putting a lot of praise on him and on the person himself. To come through setbacks is a part of football, and I think for Harry, it's probably the best I've seen him for quite a while, so I'm really glad that he's got the chance to go with the Under-21s (Ireland).
"I think it's a sign of his performances. It's like saying to Harry, 'You're playing well, and that's why you're with Ireland's Under-21's irrelevant if it's with (City's) first team or in League One or 21's football, you are playing really well, so I'm glad he's got that that chance to go with them again."
Vaughan spent the second half of last season on loan at Bristol Rovers, and while he didn't perhaps make the impact he would have liked under Matt Taylor at the Memorial Stadium, Sellars says all loans are key in shaping a player's development and building much-needed experience.
"Sometimes in football, an opinion is different from one manager to the next and, unfortunately, you find yourself on the wrong side of it sometimes. Some of them can kind of go under a little bit, but to be fair, those two (Sellars-Fleming and Vaughan) have been absolutely as good as gold, working really hard and setting a good example to the 21s group, and hopefully, because of that, we've seen our lads develop even further.
"One hundred per cent (even bad loans can be good). You'd probably say a lot of your first loans probably don't go well in terms of the perception, but it's about the whole exposure to an environment and how managers work and how adaptable you've got to be to deliver what he wants, it's just part of it. A positive experience will lead them to better things, I feel going forward."
