Hull FC have been pegged back further on IMG's performance pillar after Wakefield Trinity's Championship Grand Final victory on Saturday evening. The West Yorkshire club defeated Toulouse Olympique 36-0 at Belle Vue, and with that, improved their overall performance score by a further 0.25 bonus points.

The Grand Final reward adds to Trinity's 0.10 point bonus for winning the 1895 Cup final earlier this year and now gives them more performance pillar points than Hull FC, not to mention Castleford Tigers and Huddersfield Giants.

However, Hull Live has been told bonus points don't effect the overall performance table, which is scored out of a maximum of four points, but they do add to the total five-point score for the performance pillar, thus increasing Wakefield's score in the overall area. The club were sitting on 2.8429 points before Saturday's victory and are now on 3.0929. They are expected to replace London Broncos in Super League next year but will still sit 12th on the performance table with 2,7429 points, with Hull FC 11th on 2.8571, and so on.

Meanwhile, the performance pillar of IMG's grading is based on league finishes for the last three years, so in this instance, over the 2022, 2023, and 2024 seasons. It is worth a total of five points (four for league finishes, one for bonus points), or 25% of the overall scores, with four other pillars—fandom, finance, stadium, and community—determining the rest of the scores.

Elsewhere, and as reported last week, Wigan sit at the top of the pile with four performance points as the best performing club over the last three years. They also got bonus points as 2024 Grand Final (0.75) and Challenge Cup (0.25) winners, with the club achieving the maximum five points allocated for performance. The full grades will be released on Wednesday, with Hull FC expected to drop to a Grade B score.

N.B. Three other pillars—fandom, stadium, and community—are based on the last three years for the 2024 IMG scores. However, finance is not taken into account for 2024, instead based on the 2021, 2022, and 2023 seasons.
