Hull FC’s wheeling and dealing for the 2026 season can officially start on December 1, but what about retention? On that front, Hull have some key decisions to make, with 11 players out-of-contract at the end of next season.

And as of Sunday, they are free to speak to other Super League clubs about their futures, with Hull too set to make some key decisions as they move forward into a new era. Here, Hull Live takes a look at Hull’s out-of-contract list.

Jack Ashworth
Into the second season of an original two-year deal, Ashworth made a solid impression on Hull in his first. He turns 30 next year and has plenty more to give. A new deal could follow.

Harvey Barron
Handed the number two shirt after an impressive finish to last season, the tall, young, and athletic winger is surely set for a new and improved deal. He’s got a massive chance to stamp his mark under John Cartwright, competing with fellow winger Lewis Martin in the side.

Denive Balmforth
The young hooker signed a one-year extension last season and is a popular player among the Hull fans. If he impresses again, a new longer deal should follow.

Tom Briscoe
The veteran winger has previously hinted he could go round again for another year, but that will depend on his form and fitness. He turns 35 in March.

Zach Jebson
The young forward, capable of playing through the middle and on an edge, is fancied at the club, and should he take his opportunities, then a new deal will follow.

Will Gardiner
2025 is a huge year for the middle, who turns 24 in May. He featured regularly last season and will now look to kick on and show his engine at Super League level with better players around him. If he does that, then an extension could follow.

Matty Laidlaw
The young middle is as tenacious as they get. He’ll be looking to take his chances after a big off-season.

Jordan Lane
Into the final season of a three-year deal, Lane will be aiming to prove his worth once again, and at just 27, he still has his best years ahead of him. He won back the 12 shirt after a strong season and will now look to kick on again.

Ligi Sao
The former Samoan international will come off the quota list for 2026 and beyond, should the new ruling be passed for players who have been here since 2020 or before. He turns 33 at the end of next season and could still have a lot to offer. He needs a big year first, though.

Nick Staveley

The young forward was dealt a cruel blow with an ACL injury back in March. Before that, he looked the part at Super League level. Here’s hoping for a strong comeback. If he gets that, then his future will take care of itself.

Cobie Wainhouse
The Leeds-born middle is another highly rated young player at the club. He didn’t get a first team squad number for 2025, but after recovering from an ACL injury, it’s thought to be only a matter of time before he forces his way in and makes his debut.
