New Hull FC signing Jordan Rapana has landed in England. The 35-year-old arrived in the country in the early hours of Friday morning and is set to link up for week four of pre-season training next week.

Rapana is one of four new quota players at the club. He joins Aidan Sezer, who arrived for pre-season earlier this month and has been training for the last week, as well as Cade Cust, who began day one of pre-season, and John Asiata, who will begin training at the start of December following an extended break after international duty with Samoa.

Signing a two-year deal, Rapana is expected to play full-back next season, a role he featured heavily in for NRL outfit Canberra Raiders this year. He arrives at Hull with over 200 games of topflight experience in Australia and is also a former New Zealand international.

The club, upon signing both Sezer and Rapana, moved quickly to get the pair on priority visas, ensuring their November arrivals. It is hoped now that Rapana, who has arrived at an earlier date than quota signings in recent years, some of which have only landed just prior to Christmas, can settle quickly into his new environment, with the player keen to make his mark first in training and then in Super League.

Hull, undergoing a gruelling programme under John Cartwright, are well underway with their initial block of training leading up to Christmas, before they take a break over the festive period. They will then return to training for a further four weeks before taking on Castleford Tigers in Joe Westerman’s testimonial match. The following week sees them in Challenge Cup action before the Super League opener against Catalans Dragons on February 14.

The club's reserve side, led by Francis Cummins, will also play Doncaster in a friendly on January 12.
