Hull FC's pre-season clash at Doncaster this Sunday afternoon has been called off due to the ongoing adverse weather. The country has been hit with snow and ice over the last week, and with further weather forecasts set to see temperatures drop well below the freezing mark, the swift decision has been taken to abandon the fixture.

The Eco-Power Stadium pitch is currently frozen, and with the surrounding area posing a health and safety risk, club figures on both sides weighed in favour of a postponement. Full refunds will be given to supporters who purchased tickets, with no rescheduling of the fixture to take place.

Confirming the postponement, a statement from Hull FC read: "Sunday’s Hull FC Reserves friendly fixture against Doncaster RLFC has been postponed due to the current adverse weather conditions. While every attempt had been made by Doncaster RLFC to ensure the game could go ahead, including the laying of protective frost sheeting, the playing surface remains frozen.

"With sub-zero temperatures forecast in the coming days, it will not be possible to ensure the pitch is safe for play this weekend. Due to the pre-season schedule, a rearranging of this game will not be possible, and refunds will be available to those who have purchased tickets in advance. Supporters will have their tickets automatically refunded within five working days."

The Doncaster game was supposed to be Hull's first runout of 2025, with a reserves side led by Francis Cummins heading to South Yorkshire. It was one of only two pre-season clashes scheduled, with Hull's first-team to take on Super League opposition in Castleford Tigers on Saturday 1 February.

That fixture is former Black and White Joe Westerman's official testimonial game, with new head coach John Cartwright set to get the first look at his squad in a game capacity. Hull are then in Challenge Cup action against lower league opposition the following week before their Super League opener in Perpignan against Catalans Dragons on Friday 14 February.
