Several of Hull Kingston Rovers' head coaches during the Super League era have relatively similar win percentages - apart from current incumbent Willie Peters.

As he prepares for 2025 pre-season beginning next week, Peters will be looking to build on a personal track record in which he has won more than two-thirds of his games in charge including Super League and Challenge Cup, which shows just how much the club has progressed. That is a gap of at least 16 per cent above the rest of the club's bosses during Super League times.

The other coaches on the list of leaders are all around the mark of winning half of their games in charge - which tends to put a club in the bottom half of the table. Below is a look at the top five - with the stats below taking into account matches when the club has been in Super League rather than including the second tier:

WILLIE PETERS - 67.7%

Under Peters, winning the majority of games has become a habit for Hull KR, with that trend becoming more frequent last season, leading to a second-placed finish after being fourth the previous year.

CHRIS CHESTER - 51.2%

Took over as Craig Sandercock's replacement in the latter stages of 2014, finishing ninth that year then tenth the next - but his stats are helped by seven wins out of seven in the weaker Qualifiers competition and a run to the Cup final.

DANNY McGUIRE - 50%

Short stint in interim charge, after Tony Smith's exit in 2022, included only 10 games, of which he won five - but that included a shock derby thumping of Hull FC on rival territory despite the Robins only taking 16 men.

JUSTIN MORGAN - 48.66%

Five-year reign in top-flight as Rovers coach, after taking them into Super League for the first time with long-awaited promotion at the end of 2006 - and then secured finishes of 11th, 7th, 4th, 7th and 7th.

TIM SHEENS - 41.18%

Tough start for him, taking over a newly-relegated club in the second tier, was followed by promotion back into Super League from 2018 and finishing 10th then a Qualifiers stint - before he left midway through the next season.
