Hull KR confirm injury blow to full-back Lachlan Coote
Hull KR have confirmed that full-back Lachlan Coote will miss the next month of action after sustaining a hamstring tear against Huddersfield.
The 33-year-old was forced from the field just seven minutes in to their 28-0 win over Huddersfield on Friday.
Coote underwent a scan earlier this afternoon, revealing the prognosis.
“Hull KR can confirm Lachlan Coote will miss the next month of action after sustaining a hamstring tear in last Friday’s game against Huddersfield,” the club shared on social media.
“Speedy recovery, Lachlan.”
Coote, who has represented both Scotland and Great Britain on the international scene, has made nine appearances so far in 2023, scoring twice and kicking 24 goals.
He is off-contract at the end of the current campaign.
Willie Peters provides injury latest
Speaking during his weekly press conference, Hull KR head coach Willie Peters had no other fresh injuries to report ahead of their trip to the Halliwell Jones Stadium on Friday.
The Robins, who sit third on the table, could go level points with Warrington with 18 if they beat Daryl Powell’s side in Round 12.
Wigan currently sit second and host Leeds at the DW Stadium, live on Sky Sports.
“Not at this stage, everything else is OK,” Peters said. “We had a good session today. It’s just Lachlan from the weekend.”
England international half-back Jordan Abdull continues to be sidelined through a quad injury sustained during training.
The 27-year-old had enjoyed a fine start to the 2023 Super League campaign, collecting 12 Man of Steel points along the way
“He’ll still be a good five-to-six-weeks,” Peters confirmed.
“It was a decent tear there, so we just need to take our time with him.
“He’s feeling good, but that’s what happens when you tear your quad and the soreness goes away, you think you’re flying, but you’re not.
“He’s got another five or six weeks to go.”
