Hull KR forward Luis Johnson has suffered another injury blow during the side’s clash against St Helens at the Totally Wicked Stadium.

The Robins have confirmed that the 23-year-old will miss up to 12 weeks of action. The former Warrington youngster left the field with a ruptured pectoral and is set to undergo surgery this week.

Johnson missed the first three months of the 2022 season due to a foot injury and only returned against Castleford in May.

Hull KR head coach Tony Smith feared the worst with the injury immediately after the match during Round 15.

During the post-match press conference, Smith said“It’s not good news. He’s (Luis Johnson) torn his pectoral which is potentially a lengthy injury. I’m gutted for Luis because he’s not long back.”

He has made just four Super League appearances this season.

Hull KR provide injury update

The club continued in a statement regarding their injuries: “Jordan Abdull (quad tear) and Brad Takairangi (hamstring tear) are continuing their respective rehabilitations with the club and are managing well.

“Kane Linnett is also progressing well following surgery on his ruptured bicep and may be available to feature within the team in the next two months.

“Dan Okoro underwent surgery to repair a ligament in his wrist and looks to make a comeback in September.

“Unfortunately, young Robin, Charlie Cavanagh, dislocated his kneecap during the reserves’ enthusiastic win over Huddersfield. He is expected to return to play within the next six weeks.”

Good news for Scotland

With back-rower Kane Linnett set to return before the end of the season, Scotland will be hoping to call upon the experience forward for the upcoming World Cup.

Head coach Nathan Graham has previously told Love Rugby League that Scotland will be hoping to have both Linnett and team-mate Lachlan Coote in their squad for the tournament last this year.
