Hull KR will be sweating on the fitness of key half-back Mikey Lewis ahead of their Thursday night clash against Wigan at the DW Stadium.
Lewis, 21, left the field during the second half of the club’s 30-22 victory over Warrington at the Halliwell Jones Stadium last Friday.
He was one of several injuries for Danny McGuire’s side, who says he isn’t afraid to give the side’s youngsters their opportunities.
Jimmy Keinhorst also left the field and failed a head injury assessment, while Greg Richards sustained a hamstring injury.
Half-back Lewis received heavy strapping on his right foot and tried his best to remain on the field. But he soon succumbed to the injury and was on crutches after the game.
The side are already without playmaker Jordan Abdull, who was ruled out for the rest of the season in May.

Hull KR to monitor Mikey Lewis injury
“Mikey Lewis did his ankle,” McGuire said. “It was a case at the end where I had no idea what was going on with the subs. I was making it up on the spot.
“I think we had Jez Litten and Will Tate, so we didn’t have any middles to rotate. Korbin Sims and Will Maher just kept going on and off and the boys were outstanding.
“He [Lewis] tried to carry on. He’s tough. When you’re in a game like that, you don’t want to leave it. The atmosphere and the feeling you get when you’re committing to each other is the best ever.
“I think Mikey didn’t want to leave that. He knew something special was on the horizon. He wanted to see it through. But obviously he just wasn’t physically capable otherwise he would have tried to.
“We’d like not to have any injuries but it’s where we are. We had some young kids who travelled with us and that will be a great experience for them.
“We had some young boys a part of the squad who will have some opportunities now and I’m not afraid to give them a shot. Injuries are a part of the game but ideally you wouldn’t like them to your best players.”
McGuire’s side travel to Wigan on Thursday night for the televised Sky Sports fixture.
