Hull KR's stunning clothing range evokes Dutch football glory days and connects with pathway
Hull Kingston Rovers' Amsterdam Challenge clothing range, which will be used in the warm-up when they play in the Netherlands, has been evoking memories of Dutch football's glory days.
The range has gone on sale and is catching eyes with its familiar look. Netherlands' arguably most famous football moment was winning the European Championship in 1988 including Marco van Basten's iconic volley in the final - and Rovers will be wearing a similar look when they visit that area. The club's pre-season Amsterdam Challenge against York Knights will take place on January 25 and their warm-up range will be on show then.
It is a move that will connect with their new target pathway, as the club seeks to strengthen links with the nearby European city. Coach Willie Peters was seen sporting the look in front of one of Amsterdam's famous canals as the range went on sale. As well as the warm-up hoody and T-shirts in those colours, the club shop online now has plenty of other orange-related items, marking the Amsterdam Challenge, including cap, bobble hat and rugby ball.
