Stephen Hunt has committed himself to Wolves' fight for promotion back to the Barclays Premier League.

The 30-year-old midfielder was unable to play a significant part in the club's ultimately unsuccessful fight against relegation last season because of a groin injury which limited him to just seven league appearances and only two starts since the turn of the year.

However, amid speculation over how new manager Stale Solbakken may reshape the squad he inherited from Mick McCarthy and interim boss Terry Connor, Hunt is ready to play his part if required. He said: "I have got a year left on my contract. I have been in this situation before and I have said, 'I want to leave'. I am not going to say that."

He added: "I am going to get my head down, work hard and if I am at Wolves next year, then I will give 110% because I might owe them a little bit as well in terms of injury.

"Wolves, to a certain degree, they have stuck by me, although they haven't played me in certain games.

"But I am loyal to Wolves. I like the area and get on well with the team."

Hunt, of course, faces the task of persuading Solbakken he has a part to play and, while his immediate concern is the Euro 2012 with Ireland, he is also looking forward to that prospect.

He said: "I haven't had a chance to speak to him, I haven't met him. Once I get back in pre-season, I'll work hard and show what I can do.

"Every player wants to impress the new manager.

"It's a bit disappointing at Wolves at the moment, but I am here for Ireland now, the European Championships, and I can't wait."
