Alan Hutton believes his Aston Villa career is over and the defender wants to use his time at Nottingham Forest to engineer a move away from the Barclays Premier League side.
The Scotland international signed on loan at the City Ground last week, having not featured for Paul Lambert this season, and wants a way out of Villa.
He told the Nottingham Evening Post: "I don't see any way back at Villa.
"What has been said is that my time is done there. I hope to play as much as I can here; to play as much as I can. Then we will see what happens.
"It has been very frustrating. I was told at the beginning of the season that I would not be playing.
"When a new manager comes in he has his own ideas, he can change things around. It happens, it is football, you just have to accept it and move on.
"New managers have their own plans, their own ideas - it is just the way things go.
"My aim is to work hard and get into the team. My last competitive game was an international match which was a month ago."
