Ianis Hagi transfer pitch made by Neil Lennon as Rangers exit talk tees up Romania return

Neil Lennon has jokingly made his pitch to convince Rangers' Ianis Hagi to join him at Rapid Bucharest.

The Ibrox winger has been on loan at Alaves since January and recently instructed his agents to find him a new club as he weighs up a permanent Gers exit this summer. Former Celtic midfielder and manager Lennon, meanwhile, has only just landed the Rapid gig in Romania and he's already made it clear he'd be more than happy to accommodate Hagi should the playmaker decide to return to his home country.

Lenny joked: "Come here, come play at Rapid! "He's welcome if he wants to. He has had problems with injuries, but he is a good player. So he's welcome here, tell him."

Hagi, 25, still has two years left on his contract at Rangers and manager Philippe Clement would consider sanctioning a full-time exit for the player so long as the club earns a decent fee for the international.

Gers have a major player overhaul planned this summer and Football Scotland has already told you the club are open to listening to offers for the vast majority of their squad.
