Ibrahima Konate sends Kylian Mbappe message as Liverpool man tipped to replace striker
Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate has offered his support to Kylian Mbappe as speculation continues to revolve around the Real Madrid striker. Mbappe was left out of France's squad for their final round of UEFA Nations League games amid rumours about his private life.
France boss Didier Deschamps did little to clear up the issue by refusing to clarify why Mbappe was omitted despite confirming the player had wanted to join up with the squad.
In his absence, France drew 0-0 with Israel at a three-quarters empty Stade de France on Thursday during which there were brief scuffles between supporters in the stands.

With Mbappe unavailable, Konate is among those being considered to skipper France in their final UEFA Nations League group match against Italy in Milan on Sunday evening.
And speaking of his compatriot, the Liverpool defender said to French television show Telefoot: "Beyond being a footballer, he is one of my friends, someone that I have a lot of affection for.
"If Kylian has psychological problems in his life, we’ll always be there to help him. But we know the qualities that Kylian has; he is a formidable player and one of the best in the world. Every player in their career has had a little blip so I’m not worried about him.
"I can’t wait for him to get back to his best level."
Konate and Mbappe could be in opposition later this month at Anfield when Real Madrid visit for a Champions League match.
