ICC Latest Test Rankings: Fawad Alam And Shaheen Afridi Attains Career’s Best Positions

Pakistan players Fawad Alam and Shaheen Afridi attainted their Test career’s best rankings in the latest update in ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings.

Alam scored an unbeaten 124 against West Indies in the second Test, meanwhile, Shaheen bowled match figures of 10/94 to help Pakistan beat the hosts by 109 runs in Jamaica and square the two-match Test series 1-1.

Fawad Alam jumps to 21st position in batting, Shaheen Afridi secures an eighth place in ICC Test rankings

Alam jumped up to 21st place in Test batsman’s rankings after his brilliant century and Shaheen moved up to eighth slot in the bowler’s list which earned him the player of the match award as well as the player of the series.

Alam, who has struck four centuries since his return to Test cricket in August last year, had a previous best of 47th position attained in May this year while Shaheen’s 18th position before the second Test was his highest.

Skipper Babar Azam and wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan are the only two Pakistan batsmen who are ahead of Alam on the batters’ list. Babar made scores of 75 and 33, which helped him advance one slot to the seventh position, while Rizwan is back in the top 20 with scores of 31 and 10 not out.

Jason Holder retains No.1 all-rounder position in ICC Test rankings

Left-arm spinner Nauman Ali, who returned with 3/52, progressed from 48th to 44th position in the bowler’s rankings, while former West Indies captain Jason Holder moved six slots up to the 37th position in batting rankings, while he retained the position of No.1 Test all-rounder.

Teenage bowler Jayden Seales, who became the youngest West Indies bowler to bag a five-for, was the second-highest wicket-taker in the series with 11 wickets behind Shaheen, has moved up four slots to 54th after his three wickets in the first innings.
