Brimming with confidence after a win against Bangladesh, Scotland will lock horns with Papua New Guinea (PNG) on Tuesday in the T20 World Cup 2021 qualifier game. Scotland will hope to continue their winning run while PNG will be desperate to bounce back and keep their hopes alive of making it to the Super 12.
PNG looked good in patches in their opening game but failed to capitalise on the momentum. However, Assad Vala and Charles Amini’s good form with the bat will keep the PNG side in high stead who look to create an upset in the tournament.
Despite a touch encounter in last nights match against Oman, the KPHL PNG BARRAMUNDIS Captain Assadollah Vala scored 56 runs of 43 balls. Assad becomes the first Barramundi to score a 50 for PNG in a T20 World Cup.#backthebarras pic.twitter.com/6Cwklui4Jw

Scotland, on the other hand, produced a commendable effort to trump Bangladesh by six runs. The Kyle Coetzer-led side will hope to continue the same job against PNG to take one step closer to the Super 12.
Both sides have been in Oman for over a month. There’s a sense of familiarity now, with Scotland and PNG having played each other in two 50-over matches and a T20I in the last three weeks alone. Scotland won comfortably each time and will be keen to keep their record sheet clean.
