Pressure High In Indo-Pak Games: Hasan Ali
“When we won the Champions Trophy (in 2017), it was a very good time for us and we will try to beat them again in the T20 World Cup. We will give our best. Playing against India is always a pressure game because of the expectations of fans from both countries,” Hasan told a virtual media conference on Wednesday.
Hasan Ali further said that India-Pakistan contests are among the most-watched events in world sport.
“Even those people who don’t normally watch cricket follow India vs Pakistan matches, so the pressure on the players is high but we will give it our best.”
The Pakistan pacer then spoke about the playing conditions that will be on offer in the marquee event. The pitches will be spin-friendly and expected to get slower as the tournament progresses. Every team has included at least two to three spinners in their team.
“We know how to bowl in those conditions but yes you can see all teams have picked many spinners in their squads,” Ali said.
Since beating India in the 2017 Champions Trophy final, the Men in Green have lost against the Virat Kohli-led team in the Asia Cup 2018 and the 2019 World Cup game. Moreover, Pakistan are yet to beat the Men in Blue in any ICC World Cup game.
