Hossa netted on a power play 52 seconds into overtime for his third goal in as many games to give the Blackhawks their seventh straight victory.
Defenseman Duncan Keith collected a goal and two assists, Patrick Kane matched captain Jonathan Toews with his 21st tally and Michal Handzus scored his first goal with his new team.
Brandon Saad also scored and Corey Crawford turned aside 23 shots for the Blackhawks, who completed a season sweep of their Central Division rivals to move six points ahead of Pittsburgh in the race for the Presidents' Trophy.
Matt Halischuk recorded his first career two-goal game and Kevin Henderson tallied in his NHL debut.

Miikka Kiprusoff came within 3:41 of his first shutout of the season and enforcer Brian McGrattan scored his third goal in six games as Calgary held on to win its home finale.

Jordan Eberle recorded a goal and two assists while Devan Dubnyk turned aside 33 shots as visiting Edmonton pulled away from Colorado to snap a six-game losing streak.
Rookie defenseman Justin Schultz chipped in with a goal and an assist and Magnus Paajarvi set up two scores for the Oilers, who won four of their five meetings with the Avalanche.
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Taylor Hall also scored as Edmonton moved within eight points of eighth place in the Western Conference with five games remaining.

Chris Stewart scored his first goal in eight games and Brian Elliott made 21 saves as host St. Louis won its season series against Dallas.
Ryan Reaves also scored for the sixth-place Blues, who moved within a point of Los Angeles and San Jose for fourth in the Western Conference.
