The Senators have now lost 10 straight to the Bruins on home ice. The last time Ottawa beat Boston at Scotiabank Place was April 7, 2009.

Patrice Bergeron also beat Senators goalie Robin Lehner in the four-round shootout. Kyle Turris scored on Tuukka Rask for the only Senators shootout goal.

The Bruins outshot the Senators 32-29 through three periods.

Neither goalie had to be spectacular in the extra session, each making three saves.

The Bruins fell behind 2-0 but began to claw back in the last minute of the first period when enforcer Shawn Thornton took what looked to be a harmless wrist shot at the Ottawa net from the right wing boards.
