Iga Swiatek remains top, Daria Kasatkina earns WTA rankings reward

Daria Kasatkina moved into the top 10 for the first time since 2019, while Iga Swiatek remains the world’s number one female player.

On the rankings released on Monday, the Russian climbed three places into ninth after she beat Shelby Rogers on the hard courts of California.

It’s a career-high for Kasatkina and a return to the world elite, having dropped down to 75th in October 2020, when she was affected badly by the coronavirus.


Swiatek, remains unchallenged as the world number one and has almost twice as many points as Anett Kontaveit in second.

Meanwhile, Paula Badosa overtook Maria Sakkari into third place.

Elsewhere, Danielle Collins drop down to 17, while Liudmila Samsonova climbed up 18 places to 42nd, after she beat Kaia Kanepi in the Washington Open at the weekend.
