Iliman Ndiaye is back in individual training after an injury scare. The Everton forward was substituted during Senegal's 4-0 win over Malawi last week.

The 24-year-old has been one of the Toffees' standout players this year after joining from Marseille. So Evertonian hearts were in mouths on Friday when pictures appeared of Ndiaye in discomfort as he left the field after 65 minutes.

It was reported by Wiw Sports (h/t Sport Witness), the Everton star had not trained over the weekend due to an ankle issue and that his condition was being monitored ahead of the team's second game with Malawi on Tuesday.

Speaking at his press conference on the eve of the game, interim Senegal manager Pape Thiaw confirmed Ndiaye has been back on the training pitch and is contention to feature in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

"Iliman was injured during the match," he said, per Joueurs on X. "He trained yesterday even though he wasn't with the group on the pitch. He was at the hotel, he trained. So he is at my disposal, now we'll see tomorrow! It could be him or someone else. You'll see tomorrow."

Ndiaye has excelled for Everton since his arrival. Manager Sean Dyche has typically used the forward on the left flank, where his dribbling talent and ingenuity has provided the Blues with a different attacking outlet.

Dyche will be hoping no chances are taken on Ndiaye's fitness from Senegal, as Everton have a crucial fixture this weekend against Ipswich Town at Portman Road.

The Blues started the season with four losses in succession, but picked up five points from their previous three games before the international break.
