'I'm an Arsenal legend but I think Liverpool has struck gold with player who has everything'
Ian Wright has piled praise on Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch following the Dutchman's outstanding start to the season.
Gravenberch has earned plaudits aplenty for his performances under Arne Slot having been tasked with playing in the No.6 position for the Reds - a role which was originally earmarked for another player.
Liverpool wanted to sign Martin Zubimendi during the summer transfer window but the Spaniard turned his back on a move to Anfield, instead opting to remain with Real Sociedad.
Gravenberch has started all six of Liverpool's games in all competitions, with the Reds winning five of them, and former Arsenal star Wright believes the club's failure to land Zubimendi could turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

“You could say that with Zubimendi not going through, they could have really unearthed the one for themselves now," Wright said on The Kelly and Wrighty Show. "Because when you watch those games, and obviously, we want to see him against maybe the top three, top four, and if he’s putting in those kind of performances, then obviously Liverpool have like struck gold because he seems to have everything, He has got all the attributes.”
Wright's praise comes after Alexis Mac Allister hailed his midfield teammate after another impressive showing in the victory over Bournemouth on Saturday.
“We try to adapt to how they (the opponent) play as well, but I’m very lucky, I have to say, because Ryan is a fantastic player,” the Argentine said of playing next to Gravenberch to Sky Sports.
“When you play with good players, everything is easier. I’m very happy that he is doing well, and I think everyone can see that and see how important Ryan is for our team. It’s nice to play alongside him, we are trying to still adapt and learn from each other, so I really enjoy it.”
