James Wade has tallied up an impressive 18 points in the Premier League table this year, and a win in Manchester on Night 10 confirmed that he's playing some of the best darts of his career. But while the 2009 Premier League winner is hitting top form of late, Wade insisted he's still criticising his performances even when putting together some impressive tournament finishes. "I feel like my form is close to 'here I am'. It's there but it's not there. "I'm a little bit negative at the moment. I don't know why but I am. It happens with everyone with things they do at times. "I'm being a little bit cruel to myself. But I'm still in it, I'm not a million miles away, it's going OK so far."

With only a few nights of Premier League action left, Wade is in a good position to make the play-offs and potentially win the tournament. Night 12 in Dublin is next up for the Premier League's eight star players, and Wade mentioned just how hard it is to be consistent when playing against the world's best. "You're playing against, in my opinion, the eight best players in the world every week, and it's hard work. If you hit a 60 at the wrong time, you get bashed," added Wade. "I nearly gave it away on two occasions there but I was fortunate enough and I prevailed. I think I was the better player so it was all good.

"I'm trying as hard as anyone, probably harder than most people, and I believe I'm one of the best. I'm here for a reason. "I'm enjoying myself, playing good darts at times. I'm playing against the best eight players in the world, which is an honour for me." With Wade's latest title coming in the UK Open last year, the 39-year-old will be keen to capitalise on his good form and add silverware to his already impressive trophy cabinet.
