'I'm grateful' - Jadon Sancho pays tribute after passing of Manchester United staff member
Jadon Sancho has paid a moving tribute to Manchester United staff member Kath Phipps.
United announced the death of popular staff member Phipps aged 85 on Thursday and there has been an immediate reaction on social media from those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Phipps began working for the club in the late 1960s. She worked in a variety of roles over 55 years and was an ever-present through decades but her contribution was beyond her job title.
United have said Phipps ensured visitors to Carrington were greeted by the "cheeriest of welcomes" and that her positive attitude "helped set the mood for everyone entering the training ground."

Sancho was banished from first-team training by former manager Erik ten Hag last season but his tribute to Phipps suggests she was there to light up his day regardless.
The 24-year-old took to social media on Thursday evening to write a tribute to Phipps and said: "I’m grateful that I’ve had the pleasure of meeting you, Such a lovely kind hearted soul.
"She always made sure I was ok and always put a smile on my face whenever I felt down, I appreciate you Kath. My condolences go out to her family through this tough time."
Sancho is on loan with Chelsea - his move will become permanent in the summer - and he's finding his form again after a fall out with Ten Hag , which meant he didn't play for three months.
Ten Hag was praised for his handling of Sancho, who questioned him on social media, but it's believed some players thought the consequences for the winger were a little too harsh, as he was forced to train on his own individual programme and was banned from the canteen.
Sancho has made 10 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea, who are currently second in the Premier League, this season and he's contributed one goal and five assists.
