A Tottenham supporter has finally gotten a response from John Terry after sending many messages of abuse to the Chelsea skipper's Instagram account.

Terry made headlines for the wrong reasons last week, when an x-rated video was leaked showing a woman who people were claiming to be Terry's mother performing a sex act.

However, it was revealed that the woman in the video wasn't Sue Terry, but another woman who worked as a professional sex worker.

Despite the fact that it wasn't Terry's mother in the video, it didn't stop rival fans from making fun of the former England captain and his family.

One Tottenham fan, Danny, went as far as to direct message the 36-year-old on Instagram.

Chelsea v Southampton - Premier League.

Although it is common for regular social media users to send abuse to famous figures, it is not common to get a response.

Danny sent the SPORTbible a screenshot of some of the messages he sent to Terry's Instagram account, along with the defender's response.

Terry's reply will be sure to please not just Chelsea fans but all non-Spurs fans in England, considering Terry was mocking the amount of trophies won by Tottenham over the last few years.

While enjoying some fun on social media, Terry will hope his Chelsea team-mates can hold their nerve in the remaining four games and beat Tottenham to the Premier League title, which would give Terry a fifth and potentially final league winner's medal.
