Interim Coventry City boss Rhys Carr set for Doug King 'conversation'
Rhys Carr was due to speak to Coventry City owner Doug King today to find out whether he is required to continue in charge for Tuesday night’s trip to Burnley.
The interim Sky Blues boss took charge of his second game in Saturday’s televised lunchtime match at the CBS Arena where City came behind twice to earn a point in a 2-2 draw with Sheffield United, who were reduced to ten men just before half-time.
“That spirit is clearly in the squad, so really pleased to come back against what is a good team in this division,” said the Coventry coach, who guided the players to another hugely creditable draw at Sunderland in his first game in charge just before the international break.

“The ‘even better’ for us is if we can win those games and not get punched on the nose early and have to get ourselves back in the game.
“In terms of outcomes we’re pleased, we’re positive. Sheffield United are a good team and I thought the lads worked hard, applied themselves, showed great spirit and character, all those things they showed the other week at Sunderland.”
Asked if he expects to be in charge early next week to prepare the squad and take the team at Turf Moor on Tuesday night, he revealed: “I have been this day to day and I’m sure there will be a conversation this afternoon, but I don’t know. If I am in charge then we will be fully prepared and focused on it, and we will go into the game as we have the previous two. How that conversation will go, I am not too sure.”
