Greece failed to score for their third straight game as they played out a 0-0 draw in their World Cup warm-up game with Nigeria in Pennsylvania.

In a cagey first half, Ioannis Fetfatzidis and Georgios Karagounis wasted opportunities to break the deadlock while Lazaros Christodoulopoulos went close with a long range thunderbolt.

Despite some good runs from Victor Moses, the Super Eagles were restricted to long range efforts through Ogenyi Onazi and Ahmed Musa that were saved.

The Nigerians created good chances after the break with Moses failing to find the target from a tight angle before having a penalty appeal turned down.

John Obi Mikel went agonisingly close with a low effort late on while Onazi’s fierce shot was beaten away by the keeper.

The Greek substitutes made some impact with Celtic striker Georgios Samaras having an effort saved while Panagiotis Kone curled his shot just wide but neither side were able to break the deadlock.

3’ – CHANCE! Karagounis cuts inside on his left foot and fires over the bar from a tight angle, he was given far too much space.

14’ – CHANCE! Odemwingie unleashes an effort from distance that goes wide after Karagounis gives the ball away.

21’ – GREAT EFFORT! Christodoulopoulos with a shot from 30 yards that flies into the side netting, that was close.

24’ – GOOD SAVE! A decent effort from 20 yards by Musa that the keeper saves.

27’ - CHANCE! Fetfatzidis picks up a loose ball, beats two players but his shot is saved by the keeper at his near post.

36’ - LONG RANGE EFFORT! Onazi with a low effort from 25 yards that the keeper saves low to his right, decent shot.

39’ - INJURY! Echiejile's injury looks to be more serious as he leaves the field.

48’ – CHANCE! A dangerous cross from Moses is cleared, the ball falls to Uchebo whose shot is straight at the keeper.

55’ GOOD SAVE! Fetfatzidis's curling effort from the edge of the box is well saved by the keeper after a slick passing move.

57’ MOSES MISSES! Good chance for Moses after a one-two with Uchebo but his shot from a tight angle goes across the goal.

63’ – PENALTY CLAIM! Moses wants a penalty after another darting run before being brought down by Tzavellas, the ref waves play on though.

65’ – SO CLOSE! Kone with a curling shot from inside the box that goes narrowly wide.

68’ GOOD CHANCE! Uchebo sets up Mikel who blazes his shot well over, the Chelsea man should have done better from there.

81’ – DOUBLE CHANCE! A Mitriglou backheel finds Samaras whose shot is palmed into the air by the keeper, the rebound falls to Salpingidis whose header is saved.

85’ – GOOD SAVE! Onazi's vicious effort from distance is beaten away for a corner by Kaponi.

87’ – MISSED OPPORTUNITY! Nigeria have a free-kick after Moses is fouled on the edge of the box. Moses' delivery finds Ambrose whose header from five yards out goes wide.

89’ – MIKEL CHANCE! The midfielder rifles a low shot wide from the edge of the box that goes inches wide, so close.

After winning six games on the bounce last year, the Greeks have yet to win in their last four matches.

The Super Eagles have drawn their last three games.

Greece and Nigeria both made their World Cup debuts in 1994 but the Super Eagles have been the more successful, reaching the last 16 in 1994 and 1998.

Victor Moses (Nigeria): The Chelsea player made a number of impressive runs on the left flank and used his pace to trouble the Greek defence. He was Nigeria’s most creative player and came close to scoring in the second half from a tight angle.
