Tabraiz Shamsi, the number 1 T20 spinner, was part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad in 2016 and 2017. He featured in 4 matches for Virat Kohli’s side managing three wickets at a high economy rate of 9.19.
Andrew Tye has withdrawn from the remainder of the season; he had earlier flew back home during the India leg amid the worsening covid-19 situation and the closure of Australia borders. He becomes the second player to be replaced for the UAE leg for the Royals after they roped in New Zealand keeper-batsman Glenn Phillips for Jos Buttler.
They are already without Jofra Archer, who has been ruled out for the rest of the year. Ben Stokes, who is currently on a break to tend to his mental health, is also unlikely to return to the IPL this season considering the T20 World Cup and Ashes follow the IPL.
