IPL 2021: Trent Boult And Shane Bond Land In Abu Dhabi; Kiwi Pair To Undergo Quarantine Before Starting Training
The Kiwi pair of Trent Boult and Shane Bond landed in Abu Dhabi on Saturday morning and have been placed in their hotel rooms to undergo the mandatory quarantine period before they could join the Mumbai Indians contingent in the training camp.
Most of the local players and staff of the defending champions had arrived in the UAE earlier, completed their quarantine, and have begun training for the second half of the tournament.
The franchise shared a post with a photo of the duo on its official Twitter handle welcoming the New Zealand duo.

Trent Boult has been phenomenal for the Mumbai Indians since being traded into the side from Delhi ahead of last season and has formed a dangerous combination with Jasprit Bumrah.
He picked 25 wickets last year in the UAE, including a three-wicket haul in the final bagging the Man of the Match award.
Trent Boult, although a bit less penetrative this season, managed 8 wickets in 7 games in the first half. Shane Bond has been with the side for the past few years and has played a vital role in building up a strong Mumbai pace attack.
Currently, the Rohit Sharma-led outfit is on the fourth spot on the points table with 4 wins and 3 losses. They will face Chennai Super Kings on September 19.

Meanwhile, Shane Bond will join the New Zealand team for their tour of Asia – T20 World Cup and series in India – post the conclusion of the IPL 2021.
About the signing, New Zealand head coach Gary Stead said:
“Shane’s been in our environment before and understands what we’re about. Being in the UAE (with the IPL) immediately prior to the world cup… he’ll hopefully bring some tactical insight into what’s been happening in the competition. He’ll be an extra set of hands, especially around the bowlers, working with the spin and the pace bowlers and developing their plans in a tournament that moves pretty quick – so we need to be one step ahead of other teams.”
The Black Caps have sent a second-string side to Bangladesh, where they have lost the first two matches, and Pakistan for white-ball matches.
